Plan A Spring Break College Road Trip

In a little over a month, Keith students will be enjoying a two week long spring break! How do you plan to spend that time? Have you considered spending a few days during that wonderful break on a college road trip? If not, you should be! It is never too early to start the college search. Visiting and touring a college gives you and your student the opportunity to get a feel for what a college campus looks and feel like.
You do not have to travel far. There are wonderful options close to home. Perhaps you would like to spend a long weekend visiting schools in Chicago. You can stop by and visit both private and public universities such as Loyola, DePaul, the University of Chicago, Lake Forest, Northwestern or Dominican. Interested in making it a longer trip? Drive north to the Wisconsin area where you can visit schools such as the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Edgewood College and Carthage College. If you don’t mind colder temperatures, continue the drive north and stop by Marquette in Milwaukee, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Lawrence University in Appleton and St. Norbert College in De Pere.
Regardless of where you may decide to visit, take the opportunity to go in person and start getting the answers and information you will need to make the best college choice for you! College visits should be scheduled with the Admissions Department preferably 2-3 weeks in advance of your visit date. A college visit can range from a an hour campus tour to an overnight stay with a fellow college student. The opportunity to attend a class or meet with an Academic Advisor is highly advisable as well. Do not hesitate to ask questions about tuition and financial aid, typical class size, campus activities, majors offered, study abroad opportunities, transportation and what specifically sets this campus apart from others.
