Tour Information for Prospective Families

Contact Lindsey Duerr, Director of Admissions to learn why current families have selected Keith as their school of choice. From our three-year old through grade 12 classrooms, a one hour tour will help you understand what differentiates a Keith School education.

Visitors can tour the 15-acre campus to appreciate the beauty and safety of the school, as well as the journey through the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools showcasing the small class sizes, which help promote lively discussions and individualized attention to each student. Additionally, visitors can see firsthand the many featured curriculum areas of Keith, including the arts and science labs, performing arts areas, and indoor and outdoor physical fitness areas, among many other attributes of the school.

Visitors will have the opportunities to:

Meet the Faculty. Families can hear directly from teachers at every level of the school on the philosophy, perspective and approach to preparing students for a lives of meaning and purpose.

Meet with Students and Alumni. Potential families can meet directly with current students and alumni and their families to gain an understanding of Keith’s family atmosphere and how Keith students netted $4.5 million in merit-based college scholarships for the 27 graduating members of the class of 2017.

Value. Visitors can learn about the affordability of a Keith School education and learn about scholarships and financial aid opportunities available to them.

Scholarships. Visitors can learn about the school’s assessment process for merit-based Keith scholarships.

National Ranking. Guests can learn why Keith School is the only nationally ranked, independent college-prep school in the region (#7 in Illinois).

SUMMER READING LIST 2018-2019

REGISTRATION AND MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT

Please bring completed forms to the school office anytime throughout the summer or to Meet the Teacher night on August 16 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. You can drop-off your forms, pay fees, purchase Spirit Wear and more in the McBain Gymnasium. All teachers will be available in their classrooms between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m. A community ice cream social will be hosted by the KPA at 5:30 pm

2017 Car Show Huge Success!

The 2017 Classics and Chrome Car Show returned this spring after a two-year hiatus.

It is estimated that this spring’s show attracted approximately 8,000 spectators to the Machesney Mall location.  The Car Show Committee wishes to thank our generous sponsors, donors, volunteers, and friends who helped make this year’s show a great success.

Class Winners for this year’s show were as follows:

  • Pre-war – Dwain Plymale, 1929 Ford Model A, Rockford, IL
  • Post-War – Don Wiese, 1966 Rambler American Convertible, Rockford, IL
  • Muscle Car – Jim Becker, 1970 Chevrolet Nova, Rochelle, IL
  • Sports Car – David Huntting, 1947 MG TC, Rockford, IL
  • Hot Rod & Custom Cars – Robert Bertolasi, 1950 Ford Custom, Rockford, IL
  • Exotic & Race Cars – Ron Johnson, 1948? Ford V8 Powered Dirt Track Big Car, South Beloit, IL
  • Motorcycle – Scott Stevens, 2007 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, Byron, IL

One of the show’s featured events has been the annual raffle prize.  This spring’s raffle winners were:

  • Roger Fisher – Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
  • Fred Zwiger – Rockford

Classics and Chrome is the largest indoor car show in Northern Illinois. It features more than 120 unique vehicles that span over 100 years including pre – and post-war classics, sports cars, muscle cars, hot-rod and custom cars, exotic and race cars, specialty cars and motorcycles. Due to its growing reputation as a premiere car show, the event has attracted many high profile exhibitors and cars.
