INTERNATIONAL & GLOBAL-MINDED ACTIVITIES
Curiosity Without Borders

Keith students don’t just learn about the world, they experience it. Whether they’re debating global issues at Model United Nations, getting to know an exchange student from across the globe, or exploring a surprise topic during Interim, students build the kind of global education that opens doors long after graduation.

Model United Nations

Every February, Keith’s Model United Nations high school team heads to downtown Chicago for the Model United Nations of the University of Chicago (MUNUC). Mentored by UChicago undergraduates and ranked among the best conferences in the world, this four-day event draws more than 3,000 students from across the country. Students in Grades 10 – 12 represent a different country each year, sharpening how they speak in public and think on their feet while debating real-world issues. It’s a favorite tradition for many Keith families.

A Global Community of Learners

Keith’s international student exchange program brings students from around the world into our community right here in Rockford. Along the way, lasting friendships form, and our whole school community gets to learn from the different cultures and perspectives they bring with them.

Past exchange partnerships have included the International Partnership of Education Research and Communication (IPERC), Nacel Open Door (NOD), International Exchange (iE), and Private and Public School F1 Exchange (PSE).

Study and Travel Abroad

Study abroad opportunities are part of what makes a Keith education feel a little bigger. Periodically, students may have the chance to travel within the U.S. or abroad to gain insight into real history and real culture.

INTERIM
A Week Unlike Any Other

Each February, Middle and High School students put their regular schedule on pause for Interim, three days built entirely around one surprise topic that’s kept secret until the very first day. Past years’ topics have covered everything from Sustainable Farming to Japanese Culture, Puppetry, and Astronomy. The topics change every year and vary to highlight the important diversity and academic disciplines provided by Keith. Guest speakers, hands-on projects, and off-campus trips fill each day, giving students a chance to learn something new alongside classmates and teachers in a completely different way.
