Mr. Jutras is an innovative teacher and passionate educator. He joins Keith from Rockford Public Schools District 205, where he held several high-profile positions that spanned instruction, curriculum design, and career development.
For six years he served as RPS 205’s director of career and technical education, responsible for creating connections between students and the workforce, and developing and implementing curriculum for more than 40 content areas. Prior to that Mr. Jutras was an academic specialist and teacher within the district.
Mr. Jutras graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) with a Bachelor of Arts in history and genocide studies. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Education in literacy education and, later, a Master of Science in Education in educational administration, both from NIU. He also earned a certification in design thinking and innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Focused on creating an educational environment that allows all students to achieve success inside and outside of the classroom, Mr. Jutras works to bring the best out of current educators through professional development, technology, and best practices in curriculum development.
In addition to teaching at Keith, Mr. Jutras is a visiting assistant professor and assistant director of teacher preparation at Rockford University, where he had previously served as an adjunct professor. In 2011, he also served as an instructor at NIU.
Mr. Jutras prioritizes professional development and is a regular presenter at conferences including the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) Annual Conference. He also holds an active role at several organizations including the National Career Academies Coalition, Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, National Network of State Teachers of the Year, Illinois Principals Association, and Jobs for the Future Foundation. Mr. Jutras currently serves on the board of Alignment Rockford and ComEd Communities of the Future.
